‘ella ‘ella ‘ella

So now we return to the excitement of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week where Springtime was on the catwalk but not in the air! The post COB-timing of shows made the crowd a veritable mix of high stylin’ fashionistas and post-work crowd. This made it a bit more of a challenge for me to select between the workwear (my natural inclination), and streetstyle I was scouting for MelbourneStreetFashion.com… and heck, just some looks I really liked!

Creative contemporary workwear or stylin' street style?

Fortuitously, I was able to capture much of both styles on display and present a smattering here for your discerning eye and all Carrie Bradshaw-like, pose the question; “where does the line between contemporary business wear and street style start and where does it stop?” And while I do value your opinion, I hope that you’ll agree with me that today’s interviewed featuree has the perfect mix of Creative and Polish that results in a great ensemble that quite simply works!  Xx Cheryl

– I work in the events industry, and therefore the dress code can be different every day! Mostly though I like to keep it smart casual so that I can get some wear out of my work attire on the weekends as well as during the week…this allows me to splurge on beautiful dresses etc for special occasions.

– Most hardworking accessory has been my Zara black, long line blazer which can be worn over dresses to work or with jeans and a t-shirt on weekends. Also can’t go past black opaque stockings, especially in the colder moths, as they allow you to wear more of dresses and skirts, all year round.

– Blog I find interesting at the moment is thedesignfiles.net.au for creative inspiration (and creative envy!), buyinvite.com.au for an online bargain and TheZoeReport by the famed stylist Rachel Zoe is a good one to see what is coming up on the fashion radar and to have a squiz at the beautiful clothes I can only dream about!

– Favourite coffee source Monday to Friday is the Organic Café in Victoria Gardens Shopping centre as it is right near my work and the organic soy lattes are amazing. On weekends I head to the gorgeous ‘Porgie and Mr Jones’ in Hawthorn East for a coffee and paper.
