In Trench

Transeasonal weather calls for a chic cover-up and I find a trench in a neutral tone fits the bill. I came across today’s featuree during Melbourne Spring Fashion Week and thought her polished Contemporary Business Wear ensemble was a perfect example of this classic staple but I also particularly like how she injects some freshness into the look by way of leopard print scarf. Nice. Now I don’t tend to feature mini-skirts but felt that this clever lass accessorised and presented in such a way that it would have been a faux-pas on my part, not to…. which goes to illustrate; when pushing the workwear envelope, do make sure you present in such a polished way that the look simply works. Croc skin adds textural interest to this timeless carry-all. Look after and this is one to hold onto for years to come.

Describe your work dress style: contemporary business wear

Favourite shops/brands/websites for workwear? My corporate wardrobe is largely half Country Road, half vintage. I love trawling my grandmas’ wardrobes and local op shops for one-off pieces that transform an otherwise typical corporate outfit.

Most hardworking accessory or item of clothing in your workrobe? My sister and I have worn to death twice over (our shoe repair man was only able to resurrect it once) a black epi leather ellipse handbag that my mum found for us at our local St Vinnies.

Patent leather pumps are the perfectly polished workwear anchor for any office environment. These ones are also a great height for a stylish but comfortable commute.
