Week 41: LBD and the short sleeve blouse from Chitra’s Closet

In Week 41 of the LBD Project, I seek out a short-sleeved blouse from Melbourne designer Chitra Mangma of Chitra’s Closet.

Independent fashion designer Chitra Mangma has had her own label for seven years, building a loyal clientele of ladies who want quality fabrics in flattering cuts.
I first came across Chitra when I first photographed BusiChic Lou Pardi wearing Chitra’s Closet to work. Gorgeous!
So of course when I heard that she was having an event to launch her Spring/Summer 2012 collection, I had to see what pieces a BusiChic might like to use to add some individual flair to her workwear!

Chitra also rides a bike to work and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her zip down the street on occasion. So when I popped in for a visit, I managed to persuade her to let me photograph her cycle stylish outfit!:

Now onto this week’s LBD outfit! We’re coming into Summer here in Australia and boy does it get hot outside! As much as we can remove layers, not all offices appreciate a bare shoulder. As such, I’ve chosen to style this week’s outfit with one solution: the short-sleeved blouse:

In Week 41 of the LBD project, I layer a short-sleeve blouse from Chitra’s Closet under my Little Black Dress.

The great thing about this blouse is that one has the option of wearing it buttoned up or down. I’ve finished the look with a red lip that ties into the red in the top.

Chitra is launching her Love Bug collection for Spring/Summer 2012 tomorrow – do swing by if you’re in Melbourne!

    1. That blouse is gorgeous! I’m always looking for something a little different to add to my work clothes – I’ll definitely have to check this place out.

      • Thanks Katie – I really love this top and had trouble choosing which one to use. Made in silk – they’re so pretty – let us know if you do get one!
