I like an easy DIY project or trick to help add an element of difference to my workwear. So I can’t believe that it’s taken me so long to share this little tip that I picked up from my cousin, Jessica. Thanks Jess!
If you have a French-cuff shirt (i.e. that requires cufflinks) and don’t feel like wearing the full-sleeve down, follow these simple steps:
- Roll up your sleeve. I find just above the elbow is a good place to lock in this style.
- Utilise two pieces of ribbon; 25cm for each ribbon works for me. You might need to experiment first to see what length works for you. Ribbon texture is another variable you can play around with; I usually like grosgrain but played with some satin for this week’s look.
- Get a helper to thread through the piece of ribbon through the cufflinks, double-knot to secure sleeve firmly in place and tie excess ribbon into a bow.
Many thanks to Jen of geisker shirts for this Preppy All Day cotton shirt that I’ve used in this week’s look. If you are looking for business shirts that are made of 100% European cotton and are a little bit different, then do check out the range at geisker. I like the unusual Peter Pan collar on the number that I’m wearing today although I was also tempted by the versions in pink and the interestingly named zebra floral print!
In Week 49 I’m wearing a LBD from Bento, Preppy All Day Cottonshirt from geisker, glasses from the Lost & Found Market, belt I’ve stolen from my mum, stockings from a selection at Woolworths, Juniper style ankle boots from ziera and ribbon from a selection at my local $2 shop!
Gosh after this week we’ve only 3 more looks to go! To see other ways that I’ve styled my LBD for work: Click here!
