In Week 50 of the Little Black Dress project, I style my LBD for a warm day at work using a short-sleeved cardigan, sandals and “quiet” accessories!
” It’s oh so quiet, shhh shhh” ~ Bjork
Sometimes it’s nice to take classic pieces and twist things up a little bit. Like the short sleeved Country Road cardigan in this week’s outfit. Sure I could wear it buttoned or unbuttoned but today, I felt like doing something different. So I’ve taken the button side, stretched it over to the other side and then secured using a safety pin which I’ve inserted from the inside, creating a twisty asymmetrical look. Since I’m wearing a black cardigan over my LBD, the effect is to add more texture to the top of the dress and also to cover up my upper arms- I haven’t made it to yoga for some time now and feel that I’ve lost some tone there!
The accessories in this week’s outfit are similarly “quiet” when compared with some of the more brash statement accessories I’ve worn to work. By “quiet” I mean smaller, less attention-grabbing and acoustically, they are less jangly too! However I still like my accessories to be quirky so have chosen the minty Porcelain Lifesaver Necklace by Sassy Park and Band4Hope bracelet gifted to me by friend Jennifer who is involved in the charity’s exhibition. More on that soon!
