10 trench coats as photographed in Japan

I’ve been sharing individual images of business chic street style that I took on the streets of Japan last month, however thought it was time to dedicate a whole post to just one item because if you are a woman working in Japan, the staple item needed in your wardrobe is the trench coat.

Traditionally worn by British and French army officers in the First World War, the coat has been made feminine by way of embellishment. Skin-tone shades of sand, beige and camel were the most common colours I sighted on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka. Coats in actual blasts of colour were very rare and more often than not- worn by someone working in fashion rather than a corporate office…

Don’t have a trench coat? I’ve done the hard work for you and collated a whole selection of busichic trench coats – at a variety of price points – simply check out the Business Chic Trench Coat board on Pinterest.
