Shu Uemura: The faces of David Jones SS2014

I am a big fan of Shu Uemura cosmetics so here is a look at the faces created by International chief-make-up artist, Mr. Yuji Asano, for the David Jones preview of its Spring/Summer fashions in Sydney last night.

As always I’ve also included some notes on things to tweak as we take these looks from runway to the office.

MontanaCox

Look 1: Elegant and chic – where the French Riviera meets 60’s poolside glamour.

Key Products used in Look 1-
Complexion: shu uemura Instant Glow Stage Performer
shu uemura Illuminating Lightbulb Foundation
shu uemura Cover Concealer
Cheeks: shu uemura Colourless Loose Sheer Powder
Eyes: shu uemura Pressed Eyeshadow Shadow – M black 990
shu uemura Soft Gel Pencil – black
Brow: shu uemura Cover Concealer to lighten
Lips: shu uemura foundation over the lips for nude look
Lash: shu uemura Eyelash Curler
shu uemura Natural Volume 1 Lash
shu uemura Tokyo lash Mascara – black

Model Montana Cox looks lovely but if working this in the office, I’d suggest going easier on the eyeliner on the lower inner eyelid by either ditching it altogether or using a softer alternative to black like brown, grey, eggplant or navy. Note that using a flesh-coloured pencil here will help you look more awake πŸ˜‰

AlexandraAgoston

Look 2: Alexandra Agoston works the look described as being “angelic, chic and a little shy…”.

Key Products used in Look 2 –
Complexion: shu uemura Instant Glow Stage Performer
shu uemura Illuminating Lightbulb Foundation
shu uemura Colourless Loose Sheer Powder
Cheek: shu uemura Glow On blush M336
Eyes: shu uemura Pressed Eyeshadow – M813, M851, M895
shu uemura Soft Gel Liner – black
shu uemura Painting Liner – black
Brow: shu uemura Hard Formula – brown
Lips: shu uemura Rouge Unlimited – BG922
Lash: shu uemura Eyelash Curler
shu uemura Slim Flare Lash – on bottom lash line
shu uemura Tokyo Lash Mascara – black

A very pretty look, I’d also add a bit more blush or bronzer and highlighting as fluorescent office lighting can wash out the face.

JessGomes

The face of David Jones, Jessica Gomes, provides some hair inspo. Her long, tousled hair also works well to contrast against polished and casual fashions alike.

Ok so I didn’t walk down the catwalk myself but I’ve just recently started using the new Shu Uemura BB cream and am LOVING it. If your skin is on the oilier T-combo side of things like mine, and other BB creams by the likes of Garnier and Kiehl’s didn’t work for you, I recommend giving this a try.
