It’s the last month of winter so I’m looking for outfits that are as comfy as tracksuit pants but business chic.
However do not fear, I haven’t completely lost the plot! While I’ll be adding in the comfort factor, I’ll show you how to style some comfy bottoms to make sure that you are also work-appropriate for a Contemporary Business Wear to Smart Casual office dresscode.
Here are four different styles incorporating comfy skirts from Metalicus plus incorporating the upcoming spring trends!
1. Tweak on the classics
Items in classic fail-safe black are my usual go-tos first thing on a Monday morning but I’m trying to soften up by subbing in pieces in navy instead. Most BusiChics may already own a classic trench coat so how about applying the neutral look to the office blazer? As always show some personality by way of a print like the one in this skirt and the fabulously dotty heel.
Want to snuggle at your desk? Cosy knitwear is the best performer for snuggle-chic but requires an edgy ankle boot of sorts to appear office-appropriate. The new season 90s-inspired boot may be missing a cover for your ankles but means that your legs will look longer- for the petite amongst us, this is not a bad compromise! Warning: do make sure your winter footsies are devoid of cracked heels before trying out this trend. Yes, consider this your excuse to schedule in a pedicure to get your feet ready for Spring!
We still have a bit of cold weather to go so stay snug in this cashmere scarf that comes in great colour ways and patterns. Keep thinking outside the box by challenging the rules – who said that “blue and green, together should not be seen”?! Continue the playful theme with cute earrings from etsy and a colourful but polished suede pump. Note how much dressier this exact look would be if we used a black skirt instead of the more casual grey!
4. Sports Luxe
Work in a laissez-faire/Smart Casual workplace? Comfy kicks make this look undeniably casual yet the sleekness of the monochrome palette render them stylish enough for wear with a pencil skirt. The duster coat will be the coat of the coming season and this wittily acidic hue will work equally well with monochrome workwear and weekend denim alike. As always (!) balance sport with a cheeky snack and tongue-in-chic Lucy Folk corn chip earrings fit the bill. Just do it.
