Toby’s Estate, Melbourne Festival Hub 2014

The Foxtel Festival Hub – previously known as the Melbourne Festival Hub – opened to media, family and friends last night.

It’s a wonderful pop-up food and drink venue right on the Yarra river – opposite Federation Square, next to the rowing sheds. While its purpose is to cater to Melbourne Festival attendees, it is also THE perfect spot for drinkies after work in the summer sun. The site looks back on one of my favourite perspectives of the Melbourne city skyline and I already plan to head back so that I can get a photo of this for you.

Or you’ll have to visit and get one for me!

The Foxtel Festival Hub is the brilliant pop-up venue supporting the Melbourne Festival – open midday until late for the next 17 days!

I was delighted to be a guest of Toby’s Estate who are serving coffee on the premises from 12noon until 8pm. In fact I think it’s excellent to hear that the site is coffee in addition to alcoholic beverages by Mojo wines (who have brilliant new labelling designed by artists including Ghost Patrol and Barbara Kitallides!) and softdrinks by Dayslesford and Hepburn Mineral Springs Co. It’s great that all drinking preferences are catered to!

How brilliant is this sign crafted specially for Toby’s Estate’s presence at the Festival Hub?

THE Toby of Toby’s Estate walked us through the coffees that will be served during the festival. My favourite was the shot of Gesha which had lychee notes (that I could taste!) and an enjoyable aftertaste that lingered pleasantly. Please also note the pink coffee machine made especially to tie in with the Melbourne Festival’s branding – genius!

Visit Toby’s Estate between 6-8pm for the double power shot hour where shots of quality coffee will be served to perk up Melbourne Festival attendees! [inset top right] That’s me with NGV Fashion Curator, Paola di Trocchio, Toby Smith of Toby’s Estate and Candy Hertz of On The List Melbourne – also one of my co-workers at the NAB Village!

Everyone should have their own coffee blend

What a treat – a coffee blend made just for me!

Thanks to the team at Soda Communications for having me along as a guest.

Hope to see you down at the hub over the next 17 days – I almost want to organise a meet-up there- it’s that great a space!
