Shoesday: Wittner A/W 2015 Boots

T’is the season for getting booties!

Now when it comes to boots the question is length, heel type and height and when you are in the office, this is particularly important as we all know how shoes maketh an outfit. On a practical level knee-high boots will keep your legs warm but I am personally not a fan of the look when paired with an office skirt and sheer stockings. As a short person, such a combination of cutting lines would only make me look even shorter so it is not for me. Thumbs-up if it works for you but please don’t bring over-the-knee boots to the office unless, well – you own it!

So the boots I go for are of the ankle to mid-shin variety and this season I’m looking for styles that will work with the midi-skirts and/or tailored cropped pants that are making up my A/W 2015 wardrobe. I’ve had a browse through Wittner and started off looking for a sleek ankle boot but I find their “corporate boot”  a little too pointy and narrow (and would actually consider the long-boot version of it) – so have ended up with more casual options:

The Hiba is a fashion-forward shoe that could be seen as part-mule-part-boot. I also think it’s a great gateway-boot: if you have not booted before, consider this a work-pump but a little more. I’d pair this with hydrated heels (no dry/cracked heels in sight!) a cropped pant, shirt and leopard print jumper and wear my hair with the season’s messy kink for a Smart Casual look.

Need something Utilitarian and sleek? The Laken boot also comes in a magnificent navy that would integrate well with weekend wardrobes. In black work this with sleek-midi skirts and boyfriend blazers for a relaxed fashion-editor look that you could get away with in Business Casual (a bit more formal than Smart Casual, a little less formal than Contemporary Business Wear dresscodes).

Wittner Lilac Boots come in two colour ways: this textured black beauty and a more casual soft grey and tan variety. I liked the stacked heel and textures that will add interest paired with a midi skirt, sweater and trench coat for a relaxed Contemporary Business Wear look.

Great options for more casual work outfits, I like that these styles feature sturdy heels however for more conservative types the search for the perfect classic work boot continues!

Tell me, do you wear boots to work? What styles have you found work for you?
