Street Style

Hey there BusiChic,

Welcome to May! It’s the last month of Autumn and the weather in Melbourne has been a veritable mix of cold weather (oh those arctic winds!) as well as pleasant warm days that are almost Spring-like! So I don’t know about you but my floordrobe has reached some peaks as I make the most of wearing just about ALL of my clothes! At the close of last week we caught up with some friends at Arbory (read my review on this fab Melbourne venue here) – Melbourne’s longest bar at 150metres and largely open to the elements – and the weather could not have been more perfect!

What are you looking forward to this month? May sees Mr BusiChic and I moving to New Zealand! That said I am very excited as we will be spending the month travelling back and forth between Melbourne, Auckland and Sydney and I cannot wait to see what work style inspiration I’ll uncover for you in these great cities.

I also start a new job first thing on Monday morning and will be sharing details of that exciting enterprise with you shortly. For now, I hope that you enjoy this collection of stylish workers whose attention to detail caught my eye:

Work in Corporate and feel like showing some personality – this shot pretty much demonstrates why I so love Happy Socks that show a flash of character with every step.

travel chic in leather jacket pencil skirt and ballet flats

Travelling for work? A well-tailored leather coat will keep you warm and help transition you from the office to after-work drinks while a smaller satchel bag will make it easy for you to access your essentials.

office outfit print top and french navy pants

A print top with a sleeve is a great basic for the office. Simply pair with a great pair of work pants (this navy pair is a nice alternative to the usual black) and heels and you are good to go. On formal days, pair tops like this with a pencil skirt to create a more polished look for the Contemporary Business Wear office.

The beauty of a good coat and basics and loafers

Whether you work in corporate or are a creative casual like the fabulous Anna Varendorff, a great coat is the essential you need to keep you looking chic. Find a great shape like Anna’s swing number and simply throw on your basic tops, pants and loafers to create an easy no-brainer outfit. Too easy!
