Street Style: Auckland

Hey there BusiChic!

What are some of the first things that you do when you first reach a country?

I find that there is nothing quite like landing in a new city and wondering how long I should wait until I start going up to strangers to ask to take their photo to share on the internet! Although it may seem a bit obvious, the answer often is – “not very long” as you see, the overthinking is replaced with a compulsion to run after some stylish worker making their way to work!

Many thanks to these Aucklanders for being the first I photographed in my new home 🙂

business chic casual in blue

Chris works in the Finance industry. His charming Business Casual outfit is made up of the following: Spectacles – DITA | Shirt – from ASOS | Blazer – BARKERS | Trousers – Ben Sherman | Belt – H&M | Shoes – Florsheim

I’d never heard of Barkers prior to photographing Chris but soon found one of its stores in High street, Auckland. A rather nicely visually-merchandised store for the sartorially-minded gent catering to his needs for work and play.

little black dress with brogues and braid

Lauren’s hair was the first thing I spied as she sipped miso soup in her lunch break. Lauren’s hair is by Lashawn Graham. EDT dress, Karen Walker jewellery, Marc Jacobs “Percy” bag and ASOS brogues.

How good is this front braid of three plaits!?

Lauren was also photographed on the same day by Auckland street style photographer and RNZ host, Wallace Chapman.

Kawaii! Anya carried in a bunch of things for work in this cute carry-all her friend brought back for her from Japan.

This week I’ll be running around Sydney and Melbourne seeking out work style inspiration. What city are you in? Where should I visit next to see out the BusiChic!?
