For the uninitiated TEDx is one of the most exciting conferences in the world devoted to “spreading great ideas” via powerful 18-minute presentations delivered by thought leaders. Created in 1984 by Richard Saul Wurman, the first TED saw the convergence of Technology, Education and Design. Today speakers may bring other disciplines to the mix at TEDx conferences organised by independent chapters all over the world. Last week I perchanced upon TEDx Sydney.
I often think about stalking conferences of bankers or health professionals or dentists, to see whether they all dress in the same way. Individuals from all sorts of industries attend TEDx – from advertising to finance, to tech and even health and spirituality. I hope that this little series gives a good indication of the broad range of people who come together to share and be inspired. And from chic takes on business casual to all kinds of bright takes on smart casual, I have no doubt that there will be something in this line-up to inspire your work style!
