Street style: Summer on… and on!

This post is proudly brought to you with the support of Collins Square, Melbourne.

Oh Melbourne! It may officially be Autumn but the weather sure feels like Summer with forecasts of 30 degrees and more continuing well into next week!

While it feels like the holidays, most of us are well and truly at work. How do you stay chic when the heat is on? Take some inspiration from the BusiChics I photographed here for your workwear inspiration.

1 Jenny wears a Lisa Ho uniform to work

A shift dress keeps things simple and sleek. Jenny works for CBA and sports the uniform designed by Australian designer, Lisa Ho.

2 Catriona rocks a pencil skirt with interesting detail

Go sleeveless! The perks of being a business lady rather than a gent is that we can wear sleeveless tops like Cat’s number here by Review. If your office is too conservative for sleeveless, keep a cardigan on hand to pop over your shoulders particularly if the A/C is up to keep the suits comfortable.

3 Meaghan rocks a Gorman print, perfectly creative for her role with Penguin

A boxy tee! Covered but not clingy will keep you feeling breezey and chic. Meaghan works a Gorman print number with past-season skirt and socks from ASOS. An appropriate for her creative role at Penguin.

"I wore the hat to hide my bad hair day" Meaghan told me while looking the perfect picture of "creative" in the process!

4 Illustrator Sarah makes a jump suit work appropriate with a white blazer

Fashion illustrator, Sarah Darby, held 10-minute portrait sessions during the week. Were you lucky enough to get drawn by Sarah?

5 Fiona works a 1950s inspired skirt with a simple sleeveless black turtleneck

A 50s skirt teamed with a simple sleeveless black turtleneck is polished enough for the office but fun enough for socialising straight after work!

A modern print treatment for the timeless 1950s shape skirt

It feels like designers play with the classic 1950s shaped skirt by giving it a modern treatment every season; like this graphic print.

Daniel represents the menfolk in a shirt from Ben Sherman

Gentlemen can play with fabrications and opt for lighter ones like Daniel does with a cotton shirt and blend trouser.

What are you wearing to work this week? How do you stay chic in spite of the heat?
