Mission 65 ~ Prahran Mission fundraiser

Business Chic likes to support events with flair and substance which is why we’re taking a look at Mission 65 Fashion – an event where those in Melbourne’s fashion industry are getting together to raise funds for Prahran Mission– a community service agency of The Uniting Church of Australia that operates mainly in the City of Stonnington.

Mayor of the City of Stonnington Cr Melina Sehr is flanked by Whitehouse Institute student Charlotte and Melbourne celebrity stylist, Philip Boon.

Drawing on Christian Dior’s new-look as an inspiration, Mission 65 is a fundraising fashion event, encompassing an interactive show and silent auction. Using existing clothing sourced from the Mission’s opportunity shops, renowned Melbourne fashion designers, such as iconic Jenny Bannister, Project Runway’s Anthony Capon and the wonderfully innovative team behind Madam Virtue & Co, shall use their creative genius to transform everyday garments into exquisite outfits re-communicating the concept of making do and mending. The evening will be hosted by celebrity stylist Philip Boon and Jenny Bannister, also known as the wonderful duo behind Fashion Torque.

it was a great event! felt inspired by the Prahran Mission’s work in combinations with the designers & hair and make-up artists who hand-crafted wonderful recreated styles from the Op shop. looking forward to your pics, cheryl!

    • It was a great event wasn’t it – how we oohed and ahhhed over the outfits and the fabulous hair! I will be posting my pics soon but warning that they were taken from afar…Fingers-crossed that one of us also scores one of those amazing outfits so that I can photograph it more closely to do justice to all the detail! Thanks for your comment Molly-Rose! X
