Man in a mac

It’s our second post in this week of wet-weather gear inspired by new line Wet and Wendy (you can read about it all here)! So here are some photographs of a gent I found on the streets of Melbourne in his own spot of timeless wet-weather gear!

Business chic winter wear

I don't often get to see patterned silk scarves on a gent and think this is a perfect study in how these accessories add some flair to a business ensemble.

Prada for men

Great loafers in a wintry-warming mulled-wine colour.

So today’s business chic gent sports a mac. Ahhh there once was a time when a “mac” referred plainly and clearly to a “Mackintosh“, a form of waterproof raincoat. Wikipedia informs me that the mac was created by Scotsman Charles Macintosh who was a clerk who pursued his interest in science in his free-time to the extent that before the age of 20 he was able to kick in that dull deskjob to pursue a career in the manufacture of chemicals at which he was highly successful, even inventing a number of new processes.

Pursuing dream job fantasies aside, the usefulness of Mac’s invention as stylish wet-weather gear lives on today as displayed above! What do you think of today’s raincoat and how do you keep the rain off your workwear?
