MSFW | Miss Ghost & Gala

Today on BusinessChic, we take a look at the glorious gala wear on show at MSFW. Just this Monday past, we’ve had the Brownlow in Melbourne – the awards night for the AFL where the wives and girlfriends of football players do their best to put on a frock show. Now there are some workplaces that have events for which women will need cocktail, gala or even racewear attire which is where today’s post comes in handy. Whether you are the supportive partner or in your own work environment, I hope that you’ll get some inspiration from today’s BusiChic and the looks I spotted at MSFW!

First of the BusiChic I spotted off the MSFW runway: Alicia Hannah Naomi, otherwise known as Miss Ghost of the very ace blog, Sea of Ghosts.

Rings: Deadly Ponies, Estelle Deve, Sterling Shadows and Alicia Hannah Naomi
Manicure: China Glaze Millenium

Alicia is a Melbourne-based jewellery designer with a clean, dark aesthetic that is very well-executed. Testament to my belief that any look can be pulled off in the office as long as its done with great style, polish and confidence!
Alicia’s swish work event ensemble consists of a draped dress by Gary Bigeni, belt from ASOS, dreadlocked jacket by Lilya and black suede heels from Zara.

Gala at MSFW
And now to the runway, where the opening night was themed, “gala”! The show opened with dancers from Phillip Adams’ BalletLab dressed in Toni Maticevski and Richard Nylon Millinery, performing a dance titled “Aviary” until the face of the MSFW, Sophie Van Den Akker entered the fray wearing Neo Dia.

The show itself was resplendent with frocks and I’ve had a hard time narrowing down the edit to those that I could see being worn to workplace cocktails, gala events and entertaining race-side – albeit with a few more buttons done up, here and there 😉 Scroll through the line up and let me know what you think!
