His & Hers

Happy Monday, BusiChic!

I’m off on a wee holiday at the end of this week so I’m not going to get too down on the fact that a whole lot of folks I’ve photographed have not gotten back to me with the details of their outfits. It’s a funny balance, this streetstyle photography thing; particularly busy people like yourselves. I need to be cogniscient of the fact that you are either on your way to work, in the middle of your work day or on your way home. If it’s the latter, there’s very little chance I’ll work up the courage to ask to photograph you because let’s face it, none of us like anything getting between us and home. If it’s either of the first two situations, then I’ve got to approach and shoot quickly. Sometimes it’s reading the situation that you’re in a rush and don’t have time for me to ask what you’re wearing and where it’s from; so I give you a business card and ask for you to contact me.

Oh well. Today’s BusiChic Corporate/ Contemporary Business Wear couple were kind enough to allow me to snap them very quickly in the midst of the William Street rush. Anyone who takes the train from Flagstaff and stomps down William Street to work – you guys are quite a force of humanity! Working quickly means that the main snap isn’t one of my finest but as always, check out the detail. Back to the couple, let’s just check them out:

I love that he’s organised with his drycleaning and was taken with her chic ensemble featuring a preppy peter pan collar juxtaposed with a rather interesting take on a classic black skirt.

Her business chic Peter Pan collar

So there you have it, gents if super sharply cut suits aren’t your thing, there is space under your shirt cuff for you to stash your personality. And I say shirt cuff, not collar because I’m personally against chokers on blokes a la George Negus (sorry George).

And ladies, how lovely is a good ladylike ensemble like this one that avoids being twee?

  3. They look fantastic, especially the girl. Her outfit makes me wish I could wear skirts below the knee without looking dumpy – she looks fab!

  4. I agree, what a great way to make a suit/formal look your own. And her entire outfit is gorgeous. I must have that skirt! (Love that she’s wearing ballet flats too…I wonder if she has a pair of heels to change into ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

  5. Dig the travel souvenirs with a suit option!
