Week 19: LBD DIY knit a scarf with Pop Craft!

It’s Week 19 of the BusiChic Little Black Dress (LBD) Project where I’m wearing a LBD to work once a week for the whole year to share 52 different ways of styling this staple for the office. This week, I’m inspired to knit a scarf using a cute craft kit assembled by Pop Craft.

Brrrr. On grey autumn days as I gaze about tram stops and train stations, I’m taken by the rare but quaint sight of a person knitting. For a while now, I’ve been talking about learning how to knit, then I came across Pauline of Pop Craft who has a very cute pop up shop on for the next two months and Harvest Workroom.

OMG as someone who works in a black and white world, Pauline’s work is SO MUCH FUN! Get on it! Pauline makes knitting kits that have everything you need to make one of her original patterns. Clever crafters can choose from a plaited scarf, vest, fingerless gloves and a bag which can also be used as a cushion! I picked up one of the scarf kits and chose wool which reminded me of the colour of my favourite beetroot dip: delicious! I started knitting the kit during Fashionopolois, the fashion bloggers’ conference hosted by Lady Melbourne and nuffnang.

Unfortunately I didn’t finish my scarf by the end of the conference, however Pauline was kind enough to loan me one of hers to give you a look of what the final piece should look like:

What do you think of how I’ve styled the pop craft scarf with my LBD this week? I think it’s so clever how it can be worn in two ways and being a loop, will stay snug around my neck! Stay tuned to this series for the finished product I’m working on!

If you are interested in Pop Craft, pop along and visit Pauline at Harvest Workroom.until the end of June!

Have you knitted items to wear to work? What items would you like to see crafted to accompany my LBD!?

  4. that scarf is gorgeous! I love the idea to knit it during the conference, shame you didn’t get a chance to finish it but I’m sure when you finish yours it will look just as good as this one 🙂 Love it! Wrapped around the neck is my favourite look with it.
