One of the really wonderful freelance jobs that I get to do is providing insider tours of Melbourne to visiting journalists who need introductions to all things fashionable in my favourite city. So I was very excited when  had I the opportunity to visit the Queen Victoria Market to explore the fashionable side of the market; to think that I’d previously thought it was all just delicious boreks and fresh produce! My exploration of the market culminated in my sharing some of my style finds in the market’s beautiful publication, Market Life, that was distributed to homes through the Herald Sun earlier this year.

Now I’m looking forward to share more of my great fashion finds at the market through the Market Insider tour that is running this Saturday from 10am-12noon. Join me as I take you through and introduce you to the wonderful retailers who will keep you in style for work and play- plus ideas for Mother’s Day! For instance, I want you to meet the specialist sock seller who, when I was there, recalled all the socks a customer had bought the previous week which was a good thing because said customer was really happy with them and had returned because he wanted more of the same but himself couldn’t remember which socks he’d bought. I don’t know about you but I cannot remember the last time I got service like that when buying socks!

Want to win a double-pass to join my Market Insider tour?

All you need to do is leave a comment below and tell me how your week is going!
Are you in a winning mood? Are you battling a cold like I am? Monkey bites (more on that later!)?

Note that the winner of the double-pass will need to make their own way to the tour that runs from 10am-12noon this Saturday, May 4. All comments must be received by 10pm AEST and winner will be contacted via email + name published in this post. Good luck!

  1. Hola senorita!

My week is filled with writing a report on rural and regional planning schemes in Victoria, as well as Little Goldfish research. And how’s this serious cold snap!? Kept me and my back bed-ridden today – boohoo.

Hope your rotten cold is on its way out and that your first week back is not so awful.
See you tomorrow? I’ll pop up if I have some time before I start.

    How’s your week going?

  8. michelle says

How’s my week going? Disrupted (due to an injury in the family), yet still trying to manage all the usual events and appointments that bring joy and enlightenment, as well as the daily/weekly chores and errands that simply need to get done. Thanks for asking!
