Have your say! May I borrow your brains?

Greetings BusiChic,

How was your weekend? I had a great weekend that included the Market Insider tour that I ran for the Queen Victoria Market!

Did you know that there is a fashionable side to the Queen Victoria Market? Photos from the Market Insider tour I held over the weekend: installation outside Padre Coffee QV; participant Wendy with her stylish new purchase; me with Jeanette and Carlos from JJ Artesania

Thanks to everyone who came on tour! It was great to meet those of you who read the blog as well as Ran who was the lucky winner of our giveaway!

Ok you may have noticed that I didn’t blog on Friday – my apologies.

I’d like to be straight up with you and tell you that it’s because I’d like to rethink what I’m posting here on BusinessChic – a site that I hope keeps you inspired with what to wear to work. I love photographing streetstyle but I think there’s also room for some more dialogue! If you have a moment, I’d love to hear from you as to what you’d like to see here on BusinessChic.

Here’s what I’m thinking:

  1. Monday: “traditional” BusiChic streetstyle post including links to where you can buy similar pieces to achieve the featured look
  2. Wednesday: Ask a question: I love hearing from you and often receive emails, tweets and Facebook messages asking me for business style advice. In these posts I’d answer the question + provide images of previous BusiChics + links to where you can buy similar pieces.
  3. Friday: Round up: where I recommend books, articles, magazines, products I like and events around town to keep you in the loop on all things keeping me inspired. I think that inspiration can come from lots of different places, for example I recently read The Other Typist– a new Penguin book written by Suzanne Rindell – which is inspiring me to dress in a more 1920s style and I’d like to share these sources with you along with my accompanying images of course – what do you think?
  4. Saturday: Interview with a BusiChic – this may include style bloggers, shop keepers, stylists, PRs or secret lifers- people who work a “day job” but are pursuing their hobbies and passions outside-of-business-hours and doing so in style. If this is you, please get in touch with me!

What do you think? What else would you like to see here on BusinessChic?

I’m also considering inviting contributors to help share the work inspiration load – I’d love your thoughts! Feel free to leave a comment below or email me cheryl[at]businesschic[dot]com[dot]au

If you leave a comment by 5pm AEST this Friday, you will go into the running to win a copy of The Little Black Dress Project eBook that C*Juice Studio is helping me complete by May 27 when I’m giving a talk for Pozible!– sorry ticket allocation to this event has already been exhausted but you can still win a copy of the eBook simply by leaving a comment with your input 😉 International BusiChics may apply, eBook will emailed to the email address provided in your comment.

Hope that yours is  great start to the week! Speak soon – Cheryl

  1. Hi Cheryl,
I came to your blog because I like the “green” aspect of wearing the same piece of clothing in many different ways. I liked hearing about your ethically/sustainably sourced accessories. Would you consider taking a sustainability slant in some aspect of the blog?
    Cheers
    Lex
