What’s on in Melbourne

Greetings BusiChic,

How’s your week going?

Is it just me or does it feel like there is so much going on at the moment? I’ve returned from my whirlwind trip to sunny Perth and feel like I am in the eye of the storm watching a great many wonderful things whirling about in Melbourne, such as:

The Night Noodle Markets I wanted to go and try photograph BusiChics at this but have been warned that it’s absolutely packed. Have you been? Should I? http://melbourne.goodfoodmonth.com/nightnoodlemarkets #nightnoodlemarkets

The Design Files Open House opens THIS WEEKEND ONLY  in Melbourne – like hundreds and thousands of others, I am a very big fan of Lucy Feagins’ The Design Files blog, an interior design blog that showcases the best of Australian design talent and homes. This is the third year that Lucy and her growing team (hi Lisa Marie!) have put on TDF OH and I absolutely can’t wait to check it out! The Melbourne house is open 10-5pm 21st-24th November and the inaugural Sydney house will be open in early December-  which house will you be visiting? http://www.thedesignfilesopenhouse.com #tdfopenhouse

That wonderful Lisa Gorman has released a range of homewares that has me wanting to update all of my rooms, starting with this

Gorman Home Time – On the weekend I struggle to not dress head-to-toe in Gorman so I am beyond excited that Lisa Gorman has come out with an amazeball range of homewares AND pop-up shops! I want to run around and update all of the rooms in my house starting with the watermelon bedsheets (the pillowcase set is ALREADY sold out!) and last but not least, the highly covetable ceramics created in collaboration with local ceramist, Connie Lichtie. There’s a fruit bowl with 9-carat gold tips, people– GOLD! Check out Lucy’s TDF interview with Lisa about Gorman Home Time.

Melbourne Now exhibition opening at NGV Melbourne – In addition to the Edward Steichen and Art Deco Fashion and Photography exhibition, the NGV is opening another very exciting modern art show featuring the work of Melbourne artists. One of the works that I cannot wait to see is that of animal lover and vegan Julia de Ville – she told us that she has a whole room to work with and I am sure that it will be intriguing! #melbournenow

Hopefully the good weather hangs about so that I can photograph BusiChics at these events! Which (if any) are you going to? When you are heading out to an event afterwork, do you try to get changed first? Or do you head out straight in your work clothes?
