Street Style: Last Days of April

Greetings BusiChic,

How are you? I must say that things are incredibly busy in my world at the moment as I prepare to move to New Zealand – next week!

Have no fear – I will still be visiting Melbourne once a month to cover stories and street style as well as expanding coverage into my new home city of Auckland! Let me know if there’s anything you think I should cover there for the blog. In the meantime I hope that you enjoy the inspiration provided by the business chic folk in this round-up from the last days of April and my last days as a resident of this fair city.

Who said that classic Contemporary Business Wear had to be boring? Here a timeless trench, pencil skirt and work pumps are given a fashionable edge when paired with sleekly cut trousers (on the left) and muted colour with a tasteful flash (on the right).

classic work style stripes glasses and trench coat

Breton stripes are a staple for Smart Casuals (as well as off-duty on the weekend) but here they have been realised in a collared shirt with jewel buttons rendering them dressy enough for work as well!

Blue blazer sweater polka dot shirt and tie

Hey boys is your blue suit feeling too bright now that the light is getting darker? Take inspiration from this BusiChic gent who tones things down by mixing a brighter blue blazer with darker blue pants and ties it together with dark sweater and tie.

Polka dot and stripe detail add just the right amount of polished playfulness to this Business Casual ensemble.

Polka dot sheet top and pencil skirt

What do you wear on your final day at work? Anna’s moving onto a new role but keeps things playful yet polished on her last day by working polka dot sheet top with a classic pencil skirt in a midi length and contrasting it all with a statement necklace and floral print heels.

It’s been too long since we last had Megan on the blog! Long-time BusiChics may remember this vibrant dresser from this post way back in September 2013. Today Megan works a preppy Business Casual ensemble that has bucketloads of charm.

She wears her hearts on her elbows 😉 I love how Megan’s dressed up this too-cute top for work by layering a white shirt underneath it.

Smart Casual architect in autumn layers

Architect Junyi demonstrates a chic way to wear an infinity scarf – looped over a blazer and made Smart Casual with denim and loafers.

As snug as a bug in a rug…

Hope to catch you out and about as I am out photographing this week!
