Press: Marie Claire Australia August 2015

I’m back in Australia this week!

The focus of this trip is to teach my Blogging for Beginners class at the Abbotsford Convent (I shared a pic on my instagram) but also to FINALLY  clear out all the things I’ve stored at my parents place. I’ve been using the Marie Kondo method of keeping only what “sparks joy” but can I tell you how extremely conflicted I felt when picking up a copy of Tina Fey’s book “BossyPants”!? See I LOVE Tiny Fey but I did not love this book! If I had a physical copy of Amy Poehler’s “Yes Please” I would have definitely been sparked to keep the book because I did love that although let’s be fair that she probably had the benefit of writing hers after Tina’s – and good friend’s share insights, right? But alas I did the Kondo-thing and BossyPants is in the “Send to Op Shop pile”, released back into the world and who knows who will find it and love it!

BusinessChic in the Press

Speaking of maries, I’ve been quoted in an article in this month’s Marie Claire Australia. I’ll share some more thoughts on the piece once the month is over as I was asked to provide comments on something I have mixed feelings about…

I've been quoted in Marie Claire Australia's August issue talking about how how to increase productivity by creating a work uniform.

I’ve been quoted in Marie Claire Australia’s August issue talking about how how to increase productivity by creating a work uniform.

Do you have a work uniform? Whether directed by work or one that you have created yourself? I talk about the benefits and inspiration to create a chic one – something which I’ll delve into further as we start planning our wardrobes for the springtime. Remember, work wear doesn’t have to be boring!!

The issue features Emma Stone on the cover (love her work but kinda wish Amy Schumer was on the cover!) plus some goodies I’ve picked up on this visit including a new lippy, teas from Madame Flavour (I haven’t found this gorgeous range in NZ just yet) and treats from the Melbourne a la Mode event I managed to make it to over the weekend – divine and make sure you’re subscribed for future events!

Thinking of subscribing to marie-claire? Now is a great time for Australian subscribers who will receive a gift pack from the most excellent Lanolips. I find that the only thing that hydrates dry winter skin better than these lanolin products are skin oils which aren’t always handy to travel with or to keep in your top drawer at work.
